The Hills have thighs movie trailer

The Internet is a funny thing. A global information network powered by we, the people, the popularity of different topics is largely determined by what people are searching for. So when an unusual search term comes up among the most popular, we try to understand exactly what people are looking for.

Such is the case with “The Hills Have Thighs,” which a lot of you seem to be looking for info on this morning. It’s a 2008 “Appalachian comedy” from writer/director/actor James Bubba Cromer, or Coach Cromer (as it says in the trailer). I can’t quite figure out just why it’s so popular this morning; if anyone knows, please share in the comments section below or @MTVMoviesBlog on Twitter. You can find more info about the movie here and you can check out the wacky trailer below.

Kristen Stewart in ‘The Yellow Handkerchief’

She’s about to open the second-biggest film of her career, so what better timing than now to point you to a new peek at Kristen Stewart’s next non-Twilight film? Check out the new trailer for The Yellow Handkerchief, a Sundance entry that follows three strangers in post-Katrina Louisiana – Martine (Stewart), Gordy (Eddie Redmayne), and Brett (William Hurt) — as they search together for life, love, and the perfect Southern accent.

Ok, so it seems the Southern slangin’ is done primarily by Stewart, while Brit Redmayne goes American and Hurt rocks the ex-con handlebar mustache. As they embark on a road trip together, the two teens listen to Brett’s tale of the woman who got away (Maria Bello) while they navigate the murky waters of young love.

Watch the trailer after the jump.
After months without a distributor, The Yellow Handkerchief was picked up by Samuel Goldwyn films during the summer and will hit theaters February 10, 2010 – just in time for Valentine’s Day! The date puts The Yellow Handkerchief smack dab in the middle of a busy few weekends for lovers, where it will have to compete with the hunky Channing Tatum’s Dear John, Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor’s I Love You, Phillip Morris, the ensemble rom-com Valentine’s Day, and my most anticipated V-Day release, The Wolfman.

Crowded release date aside, at least The Yellow Handkerchief is getting a theatrical release, unlike many other indie films featuring Twilight stars that can hope for a DVD bow at best. It’s also timed perfectly to fill a gap between this month’s The Twilight Saga: New Moon and the next vampy installment, Eclipse, so I’m guessing The Yellow Hankie will do just fine.

Watch the trailer and tell us what you think: does Stewart’s accent convince? Will it be another lip-biting, hair-tugging performance for the Twilight star? Will you buy a ticket on opening day?

Beyonce still ‘shaking’ at Grammy win

Beyonce Knowles is still ‘shaking’ by her record-breaking Grammys win.

The ‘Halo’ singer picked up six honours at the prestigious ceremony last month – a record for a female artist – and is still in shock about her stunning haul.

She told Us Weekly magazine: “I am still overwhelmed by Grammy night. I can’t believe I set a record. I am so thankful to everyone – my family, my friends, the label. I have worked so hard and it seems that it all paid off in that one night. I am still shaking.”

While her win came as a shock to her, it didn’t surprise husband Jay-Z – because his wife is

so “magnificent”.

The ’99 Problems’ rapper said: “It’s almost got to a point where you just, you know, you’re almost numb to it because she’s so magnificent every single time.”

Beyonce, 28, also performed at the ceremony, covering Alanis Morissette’s ‘You Oughta Know’, as well as singing her own song ‘If I Were A Boy’, and Jay-Z admits he never felt so proud of her.

He said: “I’m a fan, you know, I’m a big fan.”

Beyonce’s wins took her total of Grammys to 16, another record for a female artist.

The rumor of a Sequel: Titanic 2

Titanic 2Cut the chitchats on a sequel to James Cameron’s blockbuster hit Titanic. In as much as I wanted one too and was nearly convinced that there is one—well guys—it’s not happening.

Movie records search shows that there is no such thing as a Titanic sequel. The said trailer that took everyone who saw it wondering whether there is a sequel is actually a mash of movies created by a guy named Robert Blankenheim. Using the pseudoname Derek Johnson, Robert used 23 movies, editing scenes and putting them all together, to create the trailer to the so called Sequel Titanic Two the Surface.

This version of the sequel’s plot focuses after the time Rose threw the “heart of the ocean” pendant to the sea.   The same expedition team went underwater to look for it again but found something else instead—a frozen Jack, Rose’s lover. Jack was defrosted and was taken to a medical facility where the government seemed to lock him up for further studies. He then escapes making him a wanted man by the authorities, but as he tries to run from them he also discovers that everything he ever knew was gone—especially Rose.

At present the video can be found at sites such as CNN Headline News, VH1 Best Week Ever Blog, Yahoo, and You Tube (where the creator himself posted the video using his pseudo). The said video in You Tube alone received 9,867,939 views since it was posted April 5. 2006. This also caused people to go instant people search on who is “Derek Johnson”.

Another copy was made by Robert, which is presently posted in You Tube, this time using his own name. He had conceived the idea of the said sequel five years ago but was unfortunate not to make it then due to lack of technical skills in using the software needed in making it like Adobe After Effects and Lightwave.

Background check on the trailer shows it has used 23 films and was made for months and months before it became the phenomena that shook all those who have seen it. Listed below are the movies where the clips were taken:

  1. Titanic
  2. The Abyss
  3. Demolition Man

Rumors to the Sequel 2: there’s a Titanic 3 Trailer on Loose

Titanic: Two the SurfaceThe Titanic Two the Surface trailer by Robert Blankenheim aka Derek Johnson, the 25 year who got every fans of James Cameron’s Titanic wondering if there is a sequel, has gotten great reviews and—here it goes—a follow up. Yup! It’s a trailer for the so called Titanic 3, Titanic Never Let Go.

Background CheckThe said trailer was posted in You Tube, February 26, 2008, by xNightshadex who took the pseudo name Margaret Devaney, which public records search reveals is the name of an actual survivor from Titanic. The plot to the trailer follows Jack Dawson who has been on the run for 10 years. During this time the modern world has taken its toll on Jack and has thus lived a life of a fugitive. What made the said plot more interesting is the fact that records search can’t find his identity anywhere (although the trailer also shows how this happened). As he struggles with the life bestowed on him by the modern world, Jack also realizes that he can’t escape his past and that he has not completely let go of it, especially the memory of Rose.

In the making of the Titanic 3 trailer, the creator asked permission from Robert Blankheim to use clips from his Titanic 2 trailer as an introduction. It, honestly, worked pretty well especially with the new Jack image, gotten from different films. Below is the list where she got portions for her work.

  • Titanic (James Cameron, 1997)
  • Titanic Two the Surface (Derek Johnson, 2002)
  • The Departed (Martin Scorese, 2006)
  • Spider-Man 2 Trailer (for the preview screen only)

For those who have seen The Departed, background check shows how most scenes were taken from it. Some of the said clips were even mashed with that of Titanic’s which indicated Jack struggling with the past which seems to still haunt him.

For the background music, the said creator used the following:

  • Theme from the Spiderman 2 trailer
  • Electric Blue-?
  • Rough Hands- Alexisonfire
  • Titanic Soundtrack- Never an Absolution

The contrast of the beginning and the end of the video was very obvious yet instead of ruining the whole thing it fitted well with her plot. The theme from the Spiderman 2 trailer got a strong hold for an introduction as it fits perfectly to all the drama and chaos that Jack had been dealing with since he got thawed 10 years ago. It also introduced the new him—a criminal and a fugitive. The end part on the other hand, Never an Absolution by James Horner, was a softer tune to fit that give the sense wherein in the end the past is something he cannot escape from nor was able to let go.

To complete the video and for the idea of the plot to sink into the audience, here are her resources:

The voices heard on the background:

  • Titanic
  • Titanic Two the Surface
  • The Departed
  • Aloud King
  • xNightshadex’ own voice

The Sound Effects:

  • Rebostock
  • Hollywood Edge
  • Cartoon Sound Effects
  • Partners in Rhyme
  • Titanic
  • The Departed

Since the trailer got posted in You Tube, Titanic 3: Never Let Go got 521,944 views. It received appraisals like that of its so called prequel trailer.

For the benefit of all those who got inspired to make trailers such as this, or just have fun making a video, here are the programs xNightshadex used:

Blind Side Gains Top Position with $20.4M after New Moon’s $15.7M over the weekend

After her blockbuster hit, The Proposal, background check on Sandra Bullock’s latest film The Blind Side has taken the movie world with surprise…and I do mean a BIG SURPRISE.

I wrote on this blog recently at how Twilight Saga: New Moon skyrocketed in the blockbuster at its first filming (earning the rights to third place on the blockbuster hit list). Records search from last December 8’s movie update shows how New Moon was “Eclipsed” by Blind Side,  a drama inspired by the life of NFL star Michael Oher, as it advanced with $20.4 Million over the weekend.

The Blind Side was said to be this year’s movie underdog considering that it only went to the runner up position, coming next to New Moon, for two consecutive weeks. However on its third week, the movie went high as it totals $20.4 Million over the weekend compared to New Moon’s $15.7 Million. This is really a great surprise.

The Blind Side is a story about NFL Star Michael Oher, who was adopted by Sandra Bullock’s character. With the said heartwarming sports inspired film, there have been questions in the past as to why a football movie was to be launched in the big screens early on. However, with this great move, although public records search can’t deny that there is still this big difference with regards to its total gross compared to New Moon’s (the vampire flick really hit $255.6 Million domestically compared to the football-inspired drama’s $129.3 Million), there is no denying that this achievement is all thanks to the movie goers who have seen and did their part in advertising through their personal reviews of the film—recommending the film…

The vampire fever may still be on however real drama, formed by a great cast not to mention a good layout of the story, is something worth taking a chance seeing. At present, the inspiration to the film, Oher, is a rookie at the Baltimore Ravens—the grandest fruit of his labor. This is really one movie not to miss as it will find a person encouraged to fight back against life’s hardships.

Shocked and Saddened: A follow-up on Brittany Murphy’s Death

Watched her films and loved her for that sunshine spunk she has all lit up on her face. From Sidewalks of New York, to Just Married, to Uptown Girls, to Little Black Book,–she was spectacular. I love her so much that hearing about her sudden death was indeed a shock. I was shocked and saddened to hear Brittany Murphy is dead.

December 20, 2009—Brittany Murphy was found unconscious in her home in the hills above West Hollywood, Los Angeles California. It was her mother who had seen her in the bathroom; at 8am a call was made to 911 to report of the incident.

Media had search for people who can give statements regarding the actress’ death. According to neighbors, they have seen the paramedics stay at the residence for an hour until they have seen them take someone pale outside the stretcher wearing a mask. They didn’t even know that that was Murphy already. They just heard later on that she died of a heart attack.

Recent reports say that Murphy may have indeed died a natural cause; however the heart attack issue is yet to be confirmed.  Background check regarding the real cause is still ongoing by the Los Angeles Coroner’s Office who at present is still looking at her medical records. Announcement regarding the result may still take weeks since they still have to conduct a toxicology test to check any presence of alcohol or drugs.

This Atlanta born gal has starred in many acclaimed films one of which, The White Hotel, where she met her husband, British director and writer Simon Monjack (it was on 2007 when she married him). Her acting career started at the age 14 starring the series Drexel’s Class. She even had a single teaming up with DJ Paul Oakfold: Faster Kill Pussycat, which became a No.1, hit on Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Play.  Just last month, there was news regarding her getting fired on the movie she was working on in Puerto Rico. According her representative, this was clearly due to creative differences since Murphy had never been fired before. Murphy felt mutual over the production and had settled to parting ways.

At present the family wished to thank all those who supported their daughter. They have but one request and that is to keep things in private. Many of today’s stars even started to express their condolences on Twiter, one of which is Murphy’s co star in Just Married: Ashton Kutcher tweeted “2day the world lost a little piece of sunshine. My deepest condolences go out 2 Brittany’s family, her husband, & her amazing mother Sharon … see you on the other side kid.”

The news on Brittany Murphy’s death definitely can find a person shocked in disbelief. She died at the age of 32; her death proclaimed at around 10:04 am at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. She will definitely be gravely missed….

Start January with a bang as New Year gets the spirit of celebration in a horrific way with the movie thriller “Case 39”. Starring Renee Zellweger as Emily Jenkins, a dedicated family services social worker who rescues the troubled 10-year old Lilith Sullivan played by Jodelle Ferlan. Background check on the child showed Emily how Lilith’s parents tried to kill her, however, not until the child stayed with her that she realized the reason to the parents’ action.

Another January treat comes in tutus, wings and a magic wand; Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is “The Tooth Fairy”. The film centers on the life of hockey player Derek Thompson who was sentence to one week’s hard labor as a real tooth fairy: going for instant people search on kids with loose tooth and coming into their houses. This fate happened after discouraging a youngster’s hopes. However it was during this episode, however, that he rediscovers his own forgotten dreams.

March 5 marks the premier of that well beloved tale: Alice in Wonderland. It’s a whole new adventure as the remake of this tale gives more excitement starring Mia Wasikowska as Alice Kingsley, Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, and Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen.

Following Alice is a movie Season of the Witch starring Nicolas Cage as Lavey. The story revolves around a group of 14th Century Knights in France who must transport a woman accused of witchcraft. She was to be brought to the mountain abbey where a group of monks are to destroy her powers—the believed source of the Black Plague.

These are but three of the movies coming up for the first quarter of the year. The year is loaded with great movies starring your favorite stars. Better be on the lookout for the remake of A Nightmare On Elm Street and the most awaited film from the popular video game Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.
